Kristie Bennett, PT, MS, CLT, is the heart and soul of Pinnacle Physical Therapy & Pilates. She founded the practice in 1999, and it’s been her professional focus ever since.
Kristie, a licensed physical therapist for over 30 years, uses a combination of treatment methods such as PRI (Postural Restoration) and PRRT (Primal Reflex Release Technique) to treat back and joint pain, strengthen weak muscles and inhibit overactive muscles (lengthening). She is certified in CDT (Complete Decompression Therapy) which is used after mastectomy, reconstruction or orthopedic surgery to prevent and minimize swelling.
Additionally, Kristie is Polestar-trained in Pilates Therapeutic Rehabilitation. She is a skilled manual therapist and prefers the Canadian Manual Therapy Approach alongside myriad other physical therapy techniques, such as Muscle Energy and Strain-Counterstrain. Kristie’s most recent training was Pelvic Floor Restoration from the Postural Restoration Institute.
Early in her career, Kristie worked with the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) ski and snowboard teams rehabilitating injured Olympic athletes preparing for the 2002 Olympic Games in Park City, Utah. She also wrote articles for SHAPE magazine in a column entitled, “Do It Right.” Additionally, Kristie has taught many courses for physical therapists and Pilates instructors to help them learn about the spine, core stabilization and shoulder girdle stabilization.
In 2008, Kristie was awarded outstanding physical therapist in Physical Therapy and Pain Management. Kristie holds her B.S. from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Physical Therapy and her Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology from CU Boulder.
Kristie’s first book, Pursuing Excellence in Physical Therapy, was written for students of physical therapy. She is now working on her second book, which will focus on patients with back pain.
Kristie is a Colorado native. She grew up on a farm near Brighton, Colorado, where she was passionate about cheerleading, music and gymnastics. Married with two children, Kristie is an avid trekking pole walker and hiker, and she loves to bike whenever she can.
